As part of Fundación Santo Domingo’s Amplifying Impact podcast, our Executive Director, Daniel Uribe, participated in the episode “A Mindset for Transformation, Collaboration for Impact”, a conversation about the kind of leadership Colombia needs today to address complex social challenges.
Moderated by José Francisco Aguirre, the episode also featured Aura Lucía Lloreda (AFE Colombia) and centered on a key idea: the country’s most pressing challenges cannot be solved in isolation, but rather through collaboration, a deep understanding of local realities, and new approaches to communication and influence.

A Perspective from Fundación Corona
During the conversation, Daniel Uribe shared reflections on Fundación Corona’s 2030 vision and its commitment to building a system of opportunities for young people that integrates education, employment, participation, and civic engagement.
From this perspective, he emphasized that Colombia is facing a unique opportunity: young people are a critical asset for the country’s development. Working systemically means bringing together actors from the private sector, public sector, academia, and civil society to respond more effectively and meaningfully to their needs.
He also highlighted the Foundation’s long-standing role in creating public goods, evolving from initiatives focused on education, business development, and health to more recent efforts centered on social mobility and citizen participation.

Key Takeaways from the Conversation
The episode offers several important insights for strengthening the social sector:
Thinking in a Systemic Vision: Advancing meaningful solutions requires coordinating stakeholders, capabilities, and efforts while placing young people at the center.
Collaborating to Amplify Impact: The most significant changes occur when organizations build shared agendas and align around common goals.
Understanding Behavior to Drive Change: Beyond designing programs, it is essential to understand what motivates—or limits—people’s decisions and actions.
Transforming Communication: In a digital environment, narratives and the way information circulates have a direct influence on participation and decision-making.
Strengthening Collective Leadership: Recognizing and empowering leadership emerging from local communities is critical for achieving sustainable transformation.

In line with these ideas, Daniel also emphasized the importance of strengthening the social sector’s collective voice, increasing its influence on the public agenda, and promoting more distributed and collaborative forms of leadership.
A Conversation for the Social Sector
This episode is an invitation to rethink the role of social sector organizations in a changing context, where communicating more effectively, collaborating more intentionally, and acting with a systems perspective are essential for generating lasting impact.
We thank Fundación Santo Domingo for creating this space for dialogue and all those who continue to foster conversations that help mobilize systems and drive meaningful change.
