On May 28, we participated in a key dialogue space with young people that reaffirmed the importance of listening to, amplifying, and positioning youth voices within the country’s public agenda.
As part of RCN Television’s program “Let’s Meet with Young People” (Encontrémonos con los jóvenes), five young leaders—three of them connected to our GOYN Bogotá initiative—took part in a conversation focused on the challenges and opportunities surrounding youth education and employment. The space was supported by Fundación Corona, which contributed to its methodological and technical design, fostering an informed and meaningful dialogue.

Lessons That Help Shape the Path Forward
The discussion generated key insights that can contribute to the development of more relevant policies and actions:
Young People Want to Be Heard and Actively Participate
There is a genuine interest among young people in influencing the decisions that affect their lives, along with a strong recognition of their own capacity to contribute to solutions.
Challenges in Education and Employment Are Structural
The conversation highlighted gaps ranging from the relevance of post-secondary education to barriers to accessing formal employment, as well as the conditions needed to support entrepreneurship and self-employment.
Place Matters
Local realities shape the opportunities available to young people. For this reason, responses must be adapted to the dynamics, needs, and potential of each territory.
The Potential of Young People Is Enormous
Beyond identifying challenges, young people are already driving solutions within their communities and leading processes of social transformation across their territories.

Investing in Dialogue to Expand Opportunities
Fundación Corona continues to work alongside young people and partners to strengthen these spaces for collective conversation. The goal is clear: to help advance an agenda that promotes better education and employment opportunities for young people in Colombia, recognizing that strengthening democracy requires actively integrating their perspectives.
Creating these opportunities for dialogue not only allows us to listen, but also to build more inclusive and relevant pathways that recognize young people as key actors in the present and future of the country.
