How to strengthen trust relationships in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca?
Various citizen participation exercises led by the SMURFIT FOUNDATION (representing the Business Alliance) and the Corona Foundation have demonstrated the potential of multi-stakeholder dialogue between civil society, the business sector, public officials and social leaders as a tool to generate a positive social impact on the population of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca.
One of these initiatives, led by the Participa + Yumbo program, was the Territorial Dialogue Initiative (TDI) implemented in 2022, which aimed to develop multi-stakeholder dialogue scenarios. Trust emerged as a common theme in these dialogue processes, leading to the Yumbo with Trust project, which is described in this report.
Yumbo with Trust was created to understand the levels of trust among the population of Yumbo. Trust, here, is understood as the belief in the good intentions of others.
The study was developed from a behavioral economics approach in order to identify not only the levels of trust but also the motivations and context characteristics associated with the levels of trust reported by the population and consequently design strategies to strengthen interpersonal trust in Yumbo.
