United for the SDGs — The Contribution of Our Companies

United for the SDGs. The contribution of our companies

"United for the SDGs. The contribution of our companies"

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the roadmap adopted by 193 countries to build a more equitable world and improve the quality of life for all without exception. These goals establish commitments for different sectors of society, including the contribution of businesses to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) associated with the global Agenda.

Given the importance of highlighting and identifying the main challenges companies face in achieving the SDGs, in 2017, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB), the Global Compact Network Colombia, the Bolívar Davivienda Foundation, and the Corona Foundation, committed to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, joined forces to promote the initiative “United for the SDGs: The Contribution of Our Companies.” This project aims to measure companies' contributions to achieving the SDGs. The Center for International Strategic Thinking (Cepei) is the technical operator of the initiative and has the support of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on environmental issues.

19 large Colombian companies with nationwide operations that collectively generated operating revenues of $93 trillion pesos during 2017 participated in this preliminary version of the study, providing information from the years 2015, 2016 and 2017: Amarilo, Bavaria, Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, Cemex, Codensa (Enel Group), Constructora Bolívar, Corona, Davivienda, Ecopetrol, ElectroHuila, Findeter, Holcim, Itaú, Mexichem, Postobón, Seguros Bolívar, Telefónica / Movistar, Tigo.
