Publication – Is Political Advocacy a Path?
RedEAmérica, in partnership with the DIS Foundation, is pleased to share this work, which aims to offer guidance and reflections on influencing public policy from the perspective of private social investment. This document is not intended as a formula for advocacy, nor does it seek to cover all issues related to this topic. It aspires to be the first version of a resource that will be refined and expanded as RedEAmérica and its members learn and develop their own actions in this field and incorporate knowledge and practices from other sources. Therefore, readers of this work are invited to discuss it, add new elements, and contribute to its ongoing development.
RedEAmérica would like to thank everyone who contributed to the development of this document. We thank the DIS Foundation for its participation and co-financing of the workshop on public policy advocacy held with the Colombian Node in Bogotá in November 2011, which provided important input for enriching the content of this work. We also thank Carolina Escobar for her valuable suggestions, comments, and recommendations. Finally, we thank the panelists and members of RedEAmérica who participated in this workshop and in the other working groups on this topic held at the Network's Annual Forums in 2011 and 2012, as well as those who submitted comments through the RedEAmérica information platform via the learning communities.
