The exercise is based on the premise that any justice system has the burden and/or responsibility of resolving the different vicissitudes and/or problems that citizens in general cannot solve directly and on their own, understanding by the latter not the possibility of exercising individual, subjective and/or self-administered justice, but the ability to resolve conflicts directly, consensually and, above all, amicably.
In that line of thought, when citizens cannot get other citizens or the institutions themselves to respect their rights, it is mainly through legal and constitutional actions that they manage to enforce those violated rights and, in that context, it ends up being that justice system that orders and provides that citizen can access goods and services that, in principle, should be provided without direct intermediation of the system.
A healthy, efficient judicial system with positive recognition from citizens reflects a strong institutional framework that generates trust among citizens and also contributes to reducing levels of violence.
Access, equity, and trust in the justice system are necessary qualities to have a system that reaches all citizens in a timely manner, regardless of their circumstances and/or where they are in the country.
Therefore, it is of utmost importance to understand and know the perception that citizens have of the different actors participating in the system who, in one way or another, provide justice services, in order to contribute to the development of public policies and action plans that allow the strengthening of the justice system as a whole, in terms of access, quality, efficiency, equity, among other elements required by citizens, society and the community in general.
