Socioeconomic Outlook for Labor Insertion and Inclusion – Bogotá
This document compiles information that allows for an analysis of the employment situation in Bogotá for vulnerable groups, with an emphasis on youth, women, and victims of the armed conflict. This study was developed by the Corona Foundation for Cuso International, with funding from the Government of Canada, within the framework of the SCOPE project: Sustainable Opportunities for Peacebuilding and Employment in Colombia. This program seeks to improve sustainable, inclusive, and equitable economic growth for vulnerable people in eight cities across the country, including Bogotá. The document is structured in five chapters. The first is the presentation. The second introduces Bogotá, focusing on its demographic, economic, and social conditions before delving into the educational situation and work-oriented training. The third chapter presents the city's labor market landscape and explores labor market indicators, available information from the Public Employment Service, key productive sectors, and data on human capital gaps. Chapter four analyzes the three population groups prioritized by the project in relation to employability and compiles the programs operating in the area. Chapter five explains Bogotá's institutional offerings, focusing on the stakeholders present in the area and the initiatives they develop regarding inclusive employment, talent development, soft skills, and psychosocial support.
