Youth with Potential Report 2025
The 2025 Youth with Potential Report reaffirms its commitment to highlighting the structural barriers and injustices that young people face in accessing opportunities. This report is an evidence-based tool for decision-making by stakeholders in the ecosystem, aimed at driving systemic transformations in the city.
This year, the report highlights the concept of multidimensional intervention as a fundamental strategic approach to promoting the effective connection of young people with educational and income-generating opportunities. These two dimensions are key pillars in the development of young people's life projects and can become drivers of territorial transformation when activated in an accessible, equitable, and sustainable manner. GOYN advocates for ecosystem interventions to explicitly recognize that addressing structural barriers and injustices requires comprehensive responses capable of tackling multiple dimensions to guarantee truly accessible, effective, and sustainable opportunities.
The report was built collaboratively with multiple actors in the ecosystem, starting from design and co-creation spaces with the GOYN Bogotá Youth Advisory Group, who guided the thematic prioritization and validated the findings from their experience.
Chapter 1 presents the current context of youth in Bogotá, with an emphasis on the Youth with Potential approach, intersectionality, and a multidimensional perspective. It was developed using data and focus groups facilitated by Atenea, the Tomás Rueda Vargas Foundation, and the District Secretariat of Social Integration with the Restorative Forging Service and the Mártires Youth Center.
Chapter 2 , in partnership with the Corona Foundation and United Way, analyzes the main challenges in the educational trajectories of young people, with special attention to subgroups that face greater barriers.
Chapter 3 , developed in collaboration with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, The Rebel School, and the Corona Foundation, focuses on income generation pathways, identifying gaps and opportunities for more equitable labor and productive inclusion.
Finally, Chapter 4 , focused on youth participation and leadership, addresses GOYN's strategic value of amplifying the voice of young people. It employs mixed methodologies with both quantitative and qualitative input and was developed in collaboration with the Leadership Incubator of the School of Government at the University of the Andes, the Corona Foundation, and the Youth Advisory Group.
