Socio‑Occupational Guidance Guides: My Compass to the Future
In Colombia, as in many countries around the world, young people are a vulnerable population in terms of access to education and formal employment. Given this situation and the high unemployment rate affecting this population, which reached 21.5% in 2021, the Bogotá Education Secretariat, the Corona Foundation, the Global Opportunity Youth Network – Goyn Bogotá program, and Maloka have developed the "My Compass Towards the Future" Guides. This tool helps young people in the city make informed decisions based on their knowledge of their skills and interests, and recognize the training and employment opportunities available in their area.
To develop this tool, the partners focused on understanding the specific characteristics of the region, recognizing that the needs and opportunities of young people in Bogotá are not the same as in other cities. The mapping indicated that the sectors with the greatest economic growth in Bogotá over the next 3 to 5 years are:
The Energy and Electricity sector.
The Construction and Infrastructure sector.
The Health and Wellbeing sector.
The Creative Industries and Performing Arts sector.
