Colombian Companies — SDG Reporting Levels

Colombian Companies. Level of reporting on the SDGs

"Colombian Companies. Level of reporting on the SDGs"

Over the past few years, there has been a growing trend among companies worldwide (regardless of size or sector) to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their planning, management and operational processes; in line with the commitments made by the governments of participating countries within the framework of global initiatives such as the 2030 Agenda.

In this sense, the present research compiles the results of the comparative analysis of the different sustainability and/or management reports of some representative Colombian companies in the national markets, and identifies the degree to which these report issues associated with the goals of compliance with the SDGs, which are directly related to their current performance, the effectiveness of operations and the impact of their actions in the economic, social and environmental sphere in the territories where they have a presence.

The first part of the document, which covers chapters 1 and 2, presents the aspects associated with the background and the analysis methodology applied for the purposes of this study, which develops some concepts associated with the evaluation criteria and tools for the validation of the information.

The final part of the document, which addresses chapter 3, presents the main findings evidenced by the analysis, which uniformly consider the rating generated for the reports of the companies and sectors studied; in turn, it establishes the context of these in relation to the SDG compliance goals, with the objective of visualizing in which dimensions of sustainability the greatest efforts and investments by the economic sectors are reflected.
