Quick document: The disconnection of young people
In Colombia, more than 5 million young people are excluded from formal education and employment opportunities. Behind these numbers are real stories, where this disconnection is not the same for everyone. The trajectories of young people are disrupted from early stages by structural barriers such as poverty, territorial inequality, lack of guidance, and informal employment.
This concise document from the Alliance for Labor Inclusion analyzes the causes of this disconnection and proposes concrete actions to reconnect: strengthening secondary education with training strategies adapted to the territory, creating youth networks and opening effective pathways to decent employment, among others.
