Collaborating to Build the City
The following pages summarize the main results and reflections from our first two years as a city initiative. We hope that these lessons will foster reflections that inform the actions and services designed to generate well-being and opportunities for young people in Barranquilla. During our first phase as an initiative, we have carried out various actions to promote the well-being of young people in Barranquilla, such as generating information and strengthening capacities to facilitate collaboration and trust among diverse stakeholders.
This document is published by NuestraBarranquilla, an initiative originated by Fondation Botnar, Fundación Corona and Diseño Público, which aims to promote the recognition and strengthening of youth as agents of change in city building, through the definition of a common agenda that articulates the youth ecosystem of Barranquilla.
The information used to reach the conclusions presented here is derived from various sources, including our initial work proposal, reports submitted by our partners and allies, bibliographic research, semi-structured interviews with our work team, testimonies from participants in our projects, among others.
We analyzed this information in two iterations: against the vision of change proposed by our monitoring and learning framework “Evidence to Action” (E2A, from the University of Melbourne), and against the main trends in philanthropy today.
This document will help us strengthen our efforts to develop new and improved strategies as an initiative preparing to continue its work in the city in the coming years, opening opportunities to bring more stakeholders together toward shared visions. At the end of this document, you will find the opportunity to identify yourself as a key stakeholder in the city, so that we can build this initiative together in the following stages.
